The Beauty In Art

On our journey so far, we have tasted, smelled, seen, and heard masterpieces everywhere. We have experienced so many forms of art in ways of food, music and so much more. In food, we found our amazement in bowls of steaming pho, rich in flavors of chicken and a deep umami flavor that is too delicious to put into words, and tasting as good as it smelled (although Willem preferred the delicious salty lemongrass pork). In music, Kuching won us over with their beautiful music-especially from the sape, or the Sarawak guitar. The sounds of the banjo looking instrument flowed through the air like the thickest honey as women dressed in colorful clothing danced to the heavenly sound. Even today, we saw beautiful street art while walking through the streets of Ipoh, Malaysia.

We saw murals depicting children holding hands, playing hide and seek, or calling for world peace. We saw elephants, horses, and roosters, and most of all, we saw not just art, but pure beauty and happiness. These murals were put here to show the beauty in the world around us. To show that you are just a small part of the world, but you are not alone. That, to me, is very amazing, to see that some people understand these things that cannot be put into words. Peace. Friendship. And most of all, Love.
