Cat Ba, Vietnam
We enjoyed our time in Cat Ba very much. In fact, for many of us it was one of our favorite places overall. We stayed in a beautiful homestay with a limestone karst behind it and no neighbors other than goats and chickens. We went on some beautiful hikes and a boat tour full of swimming, kayaking, and visiting a local floating- village-slash-fish farm with the biggest fish that I have seen in my life. Cat Ba was truly a gem of a place.
Tam Cốc, Vietnam
Tam Cốc was a glorious place made of rivers and rice. We stayed at another wonderful homestay with a pool and a dining area built into a cave. The homestay had bikes to ride for free, which we enjoyed—riding through the paddies glowing with sun. We also took a boat down the river past fields of rice and towering mountains draped in lush greenery. Ninh Binh was amazing and so beautiful that it blew me away.
